I've Been Busy Lifing

June 20, 20263 min read

"Sometimes growth looks less like achievement and more like simply showing up for your life."

It's been a while since I've written here.

Not because I haven't had anything to say.

Quite the opposite.

Life has been full. Not Instagram-full. Not "look at me crushing my goals" full.

Just real-life full.

Life Has Been Full

I've been teaching.

Running between responsibilities.

Supporting people I love through difficult seasons.

Managing businesses and properties.

Trying to remember where I put my car keys.

Wondering what I came into a room for.

You know... life.

The kind of life that doesn't always make it onto social media.

The kind where you fall into bed exhausted at night and wonder where the week went.

The kind where there are a hundred things to do, and somehow the thing you wanted to do for yourself gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

Like writing this blog.

A Quick Confession

This post had a little help from Chatty.

Not because it wrote my story. It didn't.

But because my brain tends to go in seventeen different directions at once, and if I'd waited until I had the perfect words, I'd probably still be staring at a blank screen three months from now.

So these days I do a brain dump, sort through the chaos, turn it into something readable and hit publish.

Progress over perfection has become a bit of a theme in my life lately.

And honestly, that probably sums up this season better than anything else.

The Growth Nobody Sees

For a long time, I thought personal growth looked like courses, books, podcasts and workshops.

And don't get me wrong — they all have their place.

But some of the biggest growth I've experienced hasn't happened in a classroom, a webinar or a coaching program.

It's happened quietly.

It happens when you finally have the conversation you've been avoiding.

When you stop saying yes when you really mean no.

When you start making decisions that are right for you, even when they make other people uncomfortable.

When you stop waiting for permission to take up space in your own life.

The funny thing is that from the outside, it can look like nothing is happening at all.

Meanwhile, inside, everything is changing.

Less Talking, More Becoming

That's probably the season I've been in.

Less talking.

More doing.

Less planning.

More becoming.

I've been learning that growth isn't always loud.

Sometimes it looks like setting boundaries.

Sometimes it looks like backing yourself.

Sometimes it looks like choosing yourself after years of putting everyone else first.

And sometimes it looks like doing the thing imperfectly instead of waiting until you feel ready.

I wouldn't say I've mastered any of it.

But I'm getting better.

Why I'm Writing Again

As I've been reflecting lately, I've realised that many of the stories that shaped who I am today are stories I've never really told.

Well... not entirely true.

If you've read my teabag story, you'll know I've started sharing some of them.

But there are plenty more.

Some are funny.

Some are uncomfortable.

Some still make me shake my head and wonder how I ever thought certain things were normal.

But every one of them taught me something about self-worth, resilience, boundaries and what it means to create a life that actually feels like your own.

And I think it's time I started telling more of them.

The Life Between the Posts

The funny thing about personal growth is that most of it happens between the posts.

Between the milestones.

Between the big announcements.

Between the moments we share online.

That's where I've been.

Living.

Learning.

Growing.

Becoming.

Maybe that's what this season has been teaching me.

Life doesn't stop while we wait until we're ready.

The growth happens in the middle of the mess.

In the responsibilities.

In the hard conversations.

In the boundaries we finally set.

In the decisions we make for ourselves.

I've been busy lifing.

And while it hasn't always been easy, it's been worth it.
